COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE MUNICIPALITY OF STINTINO
A plan to valorise the potentials of local environmental resources, restore the original value of the environment through the protection of habitat and species that live within the Sites of Communitary Interest (SIC) and Special Protection Area (SPA).
It ‘s the project, “Life + Sterna” financial instrument promoted by the European Union to contribute to the development and implementation of policy and environmental law.
Involved in the implementation of the project also the Conservatory of the Coastal Region of Sardinia and the Cooperative fishermen Stintino.
“Sterna” has been approved by resolution of the City Council on October 20 last year. The economic framework provides a total expenditure of € 1,916,024 of which € 1,146,521 , or 60% , funded entirely by the European Community, and 769,503 euro financing with intangible actions by the municipality of Stintino.
The project is a pride for the local administration of Stintino that in 2010, among the 64 recipients of funding in Europe, was the only one in Sardinia to win it. The project “Life + Sterna Nat/It/244” whose effect began on 1 September 2011 and it ended the 30th of august 2016.
